A Distinctive Approach to Diagnosis and Treatment

As a Doctor of Osteopathy, Dr. Sandler doesn't concentrate on just the disease; she treats you as a whole person. To do this, she uses a form of diagnosis and treatment that encompasses the entire human system. It is called Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (O.M.T.).

What this means is that Dr. Sandler uses her hands to "feel" your body … to detect areas in which an injury or illness has created a dysfunction or abnormality in the muscles, joints, or connective tissue.

Dr. Sandler then applies a gentle, yet precise, amount of pressure to the affected area and by using palpation (often referred to as a "healing touch"), stimulates and improves the flow of bodily fluids, allowing your body to begin its own healing process. This treatment is generally painless and often intensely relaxing.
